National Service Scheme (NSS)

The National Service Scheme (NSS) in schools is a voluntary government program for Class 11 and 12 students (+2 level) focused on community service, character building, and social responsibility. Operating under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, its core motto is “Not Me But You.
“Key Activities & Requirements:-
Service Hours: Volunteers must complete 120 hours of regular community work per year, totaling 240 hours over two years.
Special Camps: Units organize a 7-day special camp in adopted villages or urban slums focusing on local needs.
Common Projects: Activities include tree plantation, blood donation drives, cleanliness campaigns (Swachh Bharat), and health awareness.
Objectives & Benefits:-
Skill Growth: Helps students build leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
National Exposure: Eligible volunteers can join national camps, adventure programs, and the Republic Day Parade.
